About data sorting

You can modify the default sort sorting in a data table using the arrow icons next to every field name. Click the arrows in the field by which you want to sort to apply an ascending sort (from A to Z, or smallest number to largest). Click again to perform a descending sort (from Z to A, or largest number to smallest).

, replacing it with a sorting based on the values in a specific field. Note that table fields don’t sort independently from each other—all the cells in a row stay together when you sort a field.

...

You can sort rows by multiple fields at once by clicking on their field headers while pressing the

Status
titleCTRL
key. The chosen fields will appear highlighted in blue. The sorting order is from left to right, according to the order of the selected fields in the table. Be aware that if the selected fields are reordered then the row sorting is reset.

...

You can also use the Field viewer to quickly sort the fields in your search.

Note

Incomplete sorting

When sorting field data, you must select the event loading indicator at the left corner of the search window and turn on at least the  Load Load all only when sorting option to  to consider all the events . In case it is not activatedin the selected time range. Otherwise, only the events currently downloaded to the table will be sorted. A warning message appears when you sort data without activating this option, prompting you to activate this mode or reset the sorting., and a warning will prompt you to activate the option.

You can find this option in the event loading indicator at the left corner of the search window. Learn more about the available event loading preferences here.

Sorting multiple fields

You can stack the sorting of several fields to create a compound sorting. Simply apply ascending or descending sorting as explained above to as many fields as desired. However, there is an important consideration:

The priority for sorting is from left to right. This means that data is sorted using the values of the left-most field first, and subsequent sorting cannot alter this unless there are repeated values. In such cases, the next sorting can only further sort within the blocks of these repeated values (see picture below).
