What permissions do I need?

Users with the Activeboards (manage) or the User resources permission can switch between two different modes: view mode and edit mode. The mode selected affects the actions you can perform in your Activeboards, and applies to all the Activeboards you work with in the current user permissions can activate the editing mode (more about permissions here).

...

You can activate the editing mode taking into account the following considerations:

  • Users whose role has the User resources permission can always activate the editing mode in Activeboards.

  • Users with the Activeboards (manage) permission can always activate the editing mode in their own Activeboards. However, if someone shares an Activeboard with them, the permission level may be limited to view (learm more about sharing Activeboards here).

About the editing and viewing modes

Activating the editing mode impacts certain actions you can take in your Activeboards and applies to all of the Activeboards you are working with during your current session. That is to say, if you switch from view to edit mode, the change is applied to all the Activeboards you access in that session, both your own Activeboards and the ones you've been given access. By default, all Activeboards are in view mode when you first access them in a session. However, when you create a new Activeboard, the default mode is edit so that you can start working on it directly. , the editing mode will remain active until you choose to deactivate it or until you leave the area.

Users are allowed to perform different actions depending on upon activation of the editing mode selected:
