Unix-like machines
To configure Unix-like machines to send their logs to a Devo endpoint (that is, to a Devo relay or to the Devo cloud), it's necessary to modify the configuration of the syslog protocol available on the host, usually rsyslog or syslog-ng.
These changes can be made automatically using the Devo packages devo-system and devo-monitor. We recommend this option unless you have made extensive customizations to your syslog configuration files already. In that case, you might prefer to follow the instructions for manually configuring the collection and sending of logs to a Devo endpoint.
Read about the configuration packages if you would like to automatically configure your Unix-like machine to send system logs to a Devo endpoint.
Otherwise, follow the manual configuration procedures.
