Assign a custom finder to a role

Assign a custom finder to a role

Overview

After creating a custom finder, you can assign it to a role so that users with the role in question have access to it (go to Users and roles to learn more about how roles work in Devo). Only one custom finder can be assigned at a time and it substitutes the default finder.

What permissions do I need to assign custom finder?

To assign a custom finder to roles you need to have the Manage level of the Roles permission. If you have only the View level you will be able to see existing roles but not modify them. If you do not have any of them, you will not be able to access the Roles management area (know more about permissions here).

What permissions do I need to be assigned a custom finder?

To be assigned a custom finder you need to have the View level of the Finders permissions. If you have the Manage level you have access to all available finders so it is not possible to assign one. If you do not have any of them, you cannot use any finder or even access the Data search Explore your data area (know more about permissions here).
