Use the aliased finder
Overview
The aliased finder is a finder that you create for yourself to facilitate access to the searches you use most frequently. It works just like any other finder except that you can create alternative tags, or aliases, for the tables and searches that you choose to include.
While other finders use the standardized tags that identify tables using the rule of technology.brand.type.subtype
, here you can create a tag structure that makes sense for how you want to group, identify, and access the searches.
For example, maybe you want to identify your searches by region, the type of information, and other details that describe the data. So to analyze sales on your website, you might add a search to the aliased finder by naming it emea.ecommerce.women.shoes
What permissions do I need?
To use the aliased finder, you need the same permissions the default finder requires (at least the View level of the Finders permission). Visit Run a search using a finder to know more.
Open the aliased finder
To open your aliased finder, go to Data search, open the dropdown selector in the Explore your data → Finders tab and select Aliased finder.
Searches in the aliased finder, also called aliased searches, can have tags with up to six levels. In this example, the finder has four.
Adding searches to your aliased finder
When you first start using Devo, your aliased finder will be empty. You will need to add your chosen searches to your aliased finder one by one.
We recommend that you devise a plan for naming your searches before you start adding them to your finder. Or, alternatively, you could start by marking the searches as favorites and, once you have a good number of them, add them to your aliased finder.
Follow the instructions in this article to guide you through the process.
