Power (pow)
Description
Creates a column that returns the base specified raised to the power of an exponent.
How does it work in the search window?
Select Create column in the search window toolbar, then select the Power operation. You need to specify two arguments:
Argument | Data type |
---|---|
Base mandatory | integer, float |
Exponent mandatory | integer, float |
The data type of the values in the new column is integer or float.
Example
In the my.upload.sample.data
table, we want to raise the values in the numbers_int field of our table to the Power of 2. Name the field numbers_int_pow_2.
The arguments needed to create the new field are:
Base - numbers_int field
Exponent - Click the pencil icon and enter 2
Click Create column and you will see the following result:
How does it work in LINQ?
Use the operator select
... as
... and add the operation syntax to create the new column. These are the valid formats of the Power operation:
pow(number_base, number_exponent)
