Hyperbolic cosine (cosh)
Description
Returns the hyperbolic cosine of the selected numeric field.
How does it work in the search window?
Select Create column in the search window toolbar, then select the Hyperbolic cosine operation. This operation needs only one argument:
Argument | Data type |
---|---|
Number mandatory | integer, float |
The data type of the new column is integer.
Example
For the purposes of describing the use of this operation, we'll calculate the hyperbolic cosine of an integer field in our my.upload.sample.data
table.
With the table open in the search window, we click Create column and select the Hyperbolic cosine operation. Select the numbers_int column as the argument and assign a name to the new column - let's call it numbers_int_cosh.
Click Create column and you will see the new numbers_int_cosh column containing integer values.
How does it work in LINQ?
Use the operator select
... as
... to apply the Create column operation. These are the valid formats of the operation:
cosh(integer)
cosh(float)
Examples
Copy the following LINQ script and use it to replicate the previous example if you have uploaded the file.
from my.upload.sample.data
select split(message, ";", 17) as posNumbers1
select int(posNumbers1) as posNumbers1_int
select lshift(posNumbers1_int, 2) as lshift_2
