Home area

What permissions do I need?

To be able to access this area in the navigation pane and have it as the default landing page, you need the Home area permission (more info about permissions here).

Additionally, some resources need the specific permission of the section they offer direct access to (full list of permissions here). See the picture below the table to see what each number corresponds to.

About the Home area

The Home area provides a quick, real-time overview of event activity, as well as some useful resources and direct access to certain features. Read the following sections to learn more about each section:

1. Sending data

  • Clicking Send now opens the Data upload area in Devo, where you can send your local data to Devo to work with it as you would with any other data

  • Learn more about the process and its implications here.

2. Devo Connect

  • Clicking Join the Community opens the Devo Connect page in a new browser tab, where you can sign in or login to access different content, share insights with other users, or ask questions to the Devo teams.

3. Documentation

  • Clicking Open documentation opens the Devo Docs home page in a new browser tab, providing you direct access to quickly search for the desired information.

4. Demonstration data

  • Clicking Start demo opens a use case to help you understand the basics in Devo.

  • This demo consists of a description displayed in a new browser tab with the public documentation and the related search open in the Data search.

5. Hide cards

  • You can hide cards individually by clicking the X within each of them, at the top right of each colored box. This will make the Restore cards button appear at the top right, allowing you to bring all of them back.

  • You can hide all cards by clicking the Hide cards button at the top right. The button will change to Show cards, allowing you to bring them back. Having closed some of them individually will still allow you to use this button to hide them all.

6. Go to Preferences

  • Use this banner to access User preferences and configure your default landing page when accessing Devo. Learn more about User preferences here.

7. New query

  • This tool provides direct access to run a query.

  • Click inside the box and write the desired query (the blue button at the top provides help in case you need it).

  • Click the date selector at the top right and choose the desired time range for your query.

  • Click Run to access the search (or command / cntrl + enter ).

8. My search history

  • This list shows the last 10 searches you have accessed in the last 24 hours, giving you the opportunity to re-access them in 1 click.

  • It also shows the exact date that you accessed each search.

9. Last 5 unread alerts

  • Here youn can see the last 5 triggered alerts in your domain.

  • The color tag in each alert indicates its assigned priority.

  • Click the arrow to expand the details of the alert.

  • Click the eye button to mark the alert as closed and delete it from this list.

10. My favorite searches

  • This list gives you 1-click access to 10 of your favorite queries.

  • If you have marked more than 10, you will see the last 10 favorites you have accessed.

11. Favorite Activeboards

  • This list gives you 1-click access to 10 of your favorite Activeboards.

  • If you have marked more than 10, you will see the last 10 favorites you have modified.

  • Use this banner to access Usage analytics and see the full set of metrics and analytics in your domain. Learn more about Usage analytics and the information it provides here.
