Description

Returns the ISO-3166-1 alpha-2 country code from any country identification.

How does it work in the search window?

This operation needs only one argument:

Data type

Country mandatory

string

The data type of the new column is string.

Example

We want to get the ISO-3166-1 alpha-2 country codes corresponding to the country names in our countryName column, so we click Create column and select the ISO-3166-1 Country Alpha-2 Code operation. Select countryName as the argument and assign a name to the new column - let's call it countrycodeAlpha2.

You will see the following result:

How does it work in LINQ?

Use the operator select... as...  and add the operation syntax to create the new column. This is the syntax of the ISO-3166-1 Country Alpha-2 Code operation:

  • countryalpha2(string)
