Create a delivery method for each of the desired recipients of triggered alerts and for each of the distribution types available in your organization. You will associate delivery methods with sending policies in order to specify how to send alerts and to whom. A sending policy may have one or many delivery methods.

Delivery methods are managed in the Administration → Alert configuration area, in the Delivery Methods top tab, inside the relevant left tab.

What permissions do I need?

Apart from management permissions on Alert configuration as mentioned in the Configuring alerts article, you also need to have management permissions on the type of delivery method in question to perform these tasks.

If you have the view version of these permissions, you will only be able to see the existing delivery methods but not to perform any of the tasks described in this article.

If you do not have the permissions at all, you will not have access to this area.

Create a delivery method

Click the New button at the top right (if there are no methods created yet, this button appears in the center), fill in the required details in the New Delivery Method window, and click Create. Once created, the delivery method is available to use when configuring sending policies (visit Manage sending policies to know more).

The new method is saved in Pending status and a validation message is sent to the specified recipient, which must be confirmed before this delivery method can be used.

Visit these articles for the specific features of each type.

Edit a delivery method

Find the desired delivery method and click the ellipsis icon that appears at the end of the row. Select Edit, make the necessary changes in the Delivery Method window and click Apply.

Delete a delivery method

Find the desired delivery method and click the ellipsis icon that appears at the end of the row. Select Delete and confirm the warning message that appears.
