Real division (rdiv, \)
Description
Creates a column that returns a floating-point approximation to the quotient of the division of 2 values when there is not an integer result.
How does it work in the search window?
Select Create column in the search window toolbar, then select the Real division operation. You need to specify two arguments:
Argument | Data type |
---|---|
Divide mandatory | integer, float |
by mandatory | integer, float |
The data type of the values in the new column is integer or float.
Example
In the my.upload.sample.data
table, we want to get the real division of the values in the numbers_int field of our table by 2. To do it, we will create a new field using the Real division operation.
The arguments needed to create the new field are:
Divide - numbers_int field
by - Click the pencil icon and enter 2
Click Create field and you will see the following result:
How does it work in LINQ?
Use the operator select
... as
... and add the operation syntax to create the new column. These are the valid formats of the Real division operation:
rdiv(number1, number2)
number1 \ number2
