Query App
Overview
The Query App tool is a simplified version of the Data Search designed to run queries and obtain the results in a table without the extra functionalities offered by the search window. The main differences are the following:
You cannot specify a query using the finders or perform operations using the search window tools; you have to use the free text instead.
Graphical representation in the form of charts is not possible.
The Query App tool is made up of two different areas: Query editor and Query history.
Query editor
Follow these steps to run a query:
Select Tools in the navigation pane and then Query App. The Query app window opens. By default, the Query editor tab is shown.
In the Query editor section, select the format of the query you want to introduce, either Data Search Format or API Format, and introduce a valid query.
Define a time range for the query to search for data in the Date Range field.
Establish the Max nº of results. This will limit the number of results the query returns for the specified time range. The app will only show up to the specified number, starting from the oldest results.
Optionally, you can check the Auto collapse panel on query completion box under the source query box. If you do it, the Query editor panel will collapse after running the query. It can be manually collapsed and expanded anyhow by clicking Collapse panel at the top right.
Click Run query.
The results are shown as a table in the Query results area. You can use the search box to help you locate specific values. The results will be filtered accordingly as you type.
It is possible to modify the number of results per page. To do that, select the Display # results of # dropdown box and choose the desired option. Navigate through the result pages using the arrow next to this option.
You can use the buttons at the top right corner of the section to populate the query editor above with this query (this may come in handy if you modified it in the editor) or download the query results as a CSV file. Also, you can hover over the clock icon to see information about the response times of the query results.
Query history
You can check the queries previously consulted inside the Query app and run them again if you so desire.
Select the Query history tab at the top area of the Query app window. The Query history area is split into two different areas: Query history and Query results.
Here you can see all the queries previously run. If you are looking for a particular one, you can use the search box to help you locate it. The queries will be filtered accordingly as you type.
You can populate the query editor with one of the queries in the table by clicking the Populate Query Editor button in the Actions column. This will redirect you to the Query editor tab, with the query editor populated with the selected query. Click Run query if you want to run it.
You can also click the ellipsis button next to each query and click Re-run Query to run the query again in the Query editor tab. This will display the results automatically in the Query results section in both tabs. Also, you can select Copy to Clipboard to copy the selected query to your clipboard.
