Common operations in maps

Overview

There are several operations that are common to the Topology, Geo, and 3D views.

In the left-hand panel, you have various customization options to change how to visualize your data.

Auto-zoom mode		This tool is hidden by default. You can open it by clicking the line under the map nodes. This enables an entity-by-entity zoom. Click on the Play button to start this mode and pause to stop it. You can navigate to previous or advance to the next entity by clicking on the arrow buttons.
Zoom options		Use the + and - buttons to adjust the zoom level of your view, or use the scroll on your mouse. Use the Home button to return to the default zoom.
Max depth		Use the slider to adjust the maximum depth of the nodes shown on your diagram in the Topology, Geo, and 3D views.
Layout options		Displays a menu with additional visualization options for the map. Enable geolocation: When enabled, entities will be drawn using their geolocation data. This option will only be available when there are entities defined with geolocation information (their defined queries contain both longitude and latitude grouping keys in the last grouping section). View mode: Allows changing the map visualization layout. Available options are Standard, Hierarchy, Lens, Organic, Sequential, Radial and Structural. Orientation: Certain layout options allow for an orientation configuration. Use the selector to modify the representation from Left to right, Right to left, Top to bottom and Bottom to top. Orientation 3D: The 3D layout has some specific configurations based on view modes and orientations.
Filter options		You can filter the set of nodes in the topology graph by different criteria: Filter by text: Enter a free text description of the nodes. Nodes matching the text will be highlighted, graying out the rest. Click Enter to apply the filter. Filter by tree, status, type, subtype, metadata field and value: Allows entering additional filtering criteria by these fields. Note the resulting map is a combination of the nodes that match all criteria.

Real-time indicators

Visible data is in real-time, the entities are being calculated continuously and the map may change depending on the ingested data and defined map configuration. When the application is requesting new data a blinking blue icon is visible on the upper right corner of the screen. It indicates that the map is going to be updated.

There are some cases where the real-time functionality is stopped and newly received data is not applied to the map. Real-time will not work until the action finishes. When this happens, a pause icon appears on the upper left corner of the screen. It is not clickable, is just an indicator to identify real-time is not enabled at that moment. These are the cases:

Entity detail is opened.
The time bar is opened.
