Create and manage delivery methods

About delivery methods

Create a delivery method for each of the desired recipients of triggered alerts and for each of the distribution types available in your organization. You will associate delivery methods with sending policies in order to specify how to send alerts and to whom. A sending policy may have one or many delivery methods.

Delivery methods are managed in the Administration → Alert configuration area, in the Delivery Methods tab, and then inside the tab of the relevant delivery method type.

What permissions do I need?

Apart from the Manage version of the Alert configuration permission, you also need the Manage version of the corresponding delivery method permission to access the different delivery methods tabs and perform these tasks (more info about permissions here).

If you have the View version of these permissions, you will only be able to see the existing delivery methods but not to perform any of the tasks described in this article.

Create a delivery method

Select the tab of the delivery method you want to create. Then click the New button at the top right (if there are no methods created yet, this button appears in the center), fill in the required details in the New Delivery Method window, and click Create. Once created, the delivery method is available to use when configuring sending policies (visit Create and manage sending policies to know more).

The new method is saved in Pending status and a validation message is sent to the specified recipient, which must be confirmed before this delivery method can be used.

Visit these articles for the specific features of each type.

Edit a delivery method

Find the desired delivery method in the corresponding tab and click the ellipsis icon that appears at the end of the row. Select Edit, make the necessary changes in the Delivery Method window and click Apply.

Delete a delivery method

Find the desired delivery method in the corresponding tab and click the ellipsis icon that appears at the end of the row. Select Delete and confirm the warning message that appears.
