Hide and show fields

What permissions do I need?

To hide or show fields in your data table to display just the data that you need to work with, you need the Show/hide columns permission.

Hiding fields

You can use the methods described below to hide fields. You can also use the Field viewer.

Using the Field header menu

Individual fields can be hidden by clicking the arrow icon that appears when hovering over a hidden header and selecting Hide.

Using the Field options menu

To hide several fields:

  1. Select the fields you want to hide by clicking their headers.

  2. Click the Field icon on the toolbar and select Hide selected fields. You can also hide the fields you didn't select by clicking Hide unselected fields.

Using the Field manager

In the case of data tables with a large number of fields, you can select the Field manager icon on the toolbar. Using this option, you can easily look for fields using the search box in the window and hide the ones you don't need by deselecting them. This comes in handy when you are querying a data table that contains a great amount of information.

Reorder fields

In the field manager, click on the heading banner to sort fields by name or type. You can also apply a custom order by dragging fields onto the desired position.

When you access a data table using a finder, you can hide fields before opening the data table. The Field manager icon turns green when you pick specific fields when running a search or when you hide fields in the search window.

Showing fields

To show all the hidden fields, click the Field icon on the toolbar Show hidden fields.

Individual fields can be shown by selecting the Field manager icon on the toolbar and checking the fields you want to show. You can also use the Field viewer for this.
