Active Refresh in Activeboards

Overview
You can use the active refresh button in your Activeboards to relaunch queries and, if activated, restart the realtime feed. The function of the refresh button is to free up browser memory by reestablishing the connection to the queries that feed the Activeboard's widgets. It also helps sidestep the issue of an individual widget encountering an error and thus being unable to recover and continue updating. Â
Refresh your Activeboard
The refresh button is located in the top-right corner of your screen, just beside the time-range control. When you refresh the Activeboard, all of the widgets' queries are relaunched, except for those with the Load on demand enabled. Additionally, if the real-time feed is activated, it will be restarted.
Activeboard vs browser refresh
There are different consequences regarding refreshing your Activeboard vs refreshing the entire browser. Using the Activeboard refresh simply relaunches the queries, while using the browser refresh reboots the whole area, reseting options applied while in viewing mode.
The following refresh options are available:
   | Clicking on the arrow will result in an instant refresh. All of the widgets' queries will be relaunched and the real-time feed restarted. It can be used at any moment, even if a periodicity option is selected. Refreshing a specific widget’s query: you can also use this option located at the top right of a widget to refresh only that specific widget’s query (more info here). | ||

Every time you select a refresh option the arrow icon changes momentarily into a green tick, indicating the refresh is activated. A loading icon will appear in each of your widgets which indicates that they are refreshing.Â
Actions do not affect periodicity
The time period selected for the refresh affects all widgets and inputs regardless of their creation date. For example, if it is 17:00 and you choose to refresh every 15 minutes but then create a new widget at 17:05, all of the Activeboard's widgets will refresh at 17:15, including the new widget.
Furthermore, once a time period to refresh has been selected, clicking the refresh button does not restart the timer.
Abort your Activeboard’s queries
When your Activeboard’s queries are being loaded, this button will be enabled so you can stop them all and interrupt the data retrieval. All widgets, except those with the Load on demand enabled, will show the Aborted sign.
Aborting a specific widget’s query: you can also use this option located at the top right of a widget to abort only that specific widget’s query (more info here).
