Volume tab

The Volume tab shows different information about the volume of data ingested into the domain(s). In most cases, volume activity will be proportional to the overall company activity. Strong variation on a day/period or technology may be significant and should be investigated. 

This tab is composed of a single section (Volume info), which includes the following widgets:

Daily volume (top 20)

This widget shows the 20 tables that received the greatest amount of data in your domain in the selected period. If the domain has a daily volume contracted, a line will appear on the diagram indicating this limit.

Here are a few tips to get the most out of this widget:

  • Move your mouse over the chart to display a tooltip that contains detailed information about the series plotted in the chart.

  • Click and drag across a section of the chart to zoom to the time period in the chart. Click Reset zoom to go back to the default view.

  • Click a data series in the chart legend to hide or show the series in the chart.

The top 20 tables appear listed at the left of the chart, being the one that received the most data the one at the bottom of the list.

Total volume

This widget shows the total volume of data ingested in each table in the domain in the period selected, including the volume percentage.

Use the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom of the table to navigate through the different table pages.

Daily volume (top 20) by domain

This widget will only appear if your app has been configured to show data from different domains.

This widget shows the total volume of data per domain for the period selected. If any of your domains have a daily volume contracted, a line will appear on the diagram indicating this limit.

Volume heat calendar (last 3 months)

This widget shows the daily data volume ingested in the domain for the last 3 months. Each day is represented as a square in the map, and each one is given a color according to the volume ingested. You can see the color scale at the bottom of the widget. 

Note that this widget is not affected by the time interval selector at the top of the application; it always shows the data volume for the last 3 months.

Here are a few tips to get the most out of this widget:

  • Hover over each square to see the specific date and data volume ingested.

  • Select a color in the scale at the bottom of the widget to highlight only the days with that color in the calendar.

  • Click a square to see the data volume in each domain table in the Daily volume widget, defined below.

Daily volume

This widget shows the data volume and percentage for each table during the day selected in the Volume heat calendar (last 3 months) widget, explained above.

Use the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom of the table to navigate through the different table pages.
