Manage delivery methods

Create a delivery method for each of the possible recipients of triggered alerts and for each of the distribution types available in your organization. You will associate delivery methods for sending policies in order to direct how to send alerts and to whom. A sending policy may have one or many delivery methods.

These are the tasks you need to perform when using delivery methods:

Apart from management permissions on Alert configuration, you also need to have management permissions on the type of delivery method in question to perform these tasks.

Create a delivery method

If you need a new delivery method:

  1. Go to Administration → Alert Configuration and select the Delivery Methods tab. 
  2. Select the distribution type in the left-hand panel, then click the New button at the top right.

  3. The Delivery Method window appears. Instructions for setting up the different types of delivery methods are provided in these articles:

Edit a delivery method

If you need to modify the settings of a delivery method:

  1. Go to Administration → Alert Configuration and select the Delivery Methods tab. 
  2. Select the distribution type in the left-hand panel.

  3. Hover over a delivery method row and click the ellipsis icon that appears at the end of the row.

  4. Select Edit and the Delivery Method window appears.
  5. Make the necessary changes and click Apply.

Delete a delivery method

If you no longer need a delivery method:

  1. Go to Administration → Alert Configuration and select the Delivery Methods tab. 
  2. Select the distribution type in the left-hand panel.

  3. Hover over a delivery method row and click the ellipsis icon that appears at the end of the row.

  4. Select Delete and confirm the warning message that appears.
