Monitor new triggered alerts

What permissions do I need?

To see triggered alerts, you need the View level of the Triggered alerts permission (see a detailed descriptions of the alerts permissions here).

Additionally, you need to have alerts assigned with at least View access (see Assign resources to a role).

New alerts counter in the alerts area

You can check if new alerts have been triggered in your domain inside the Alerts overview area.

New alerts since last update - This is the count of unread alerts since the last time you visited the Alerts history. The count is reset every time you access this area but if you use a time range that uses now as the reference point and new alerts arrive while you are inside, you will see a Load New button at the top left.

New alerts counter in the navigation pane

You can always check if new alerts have been triggered in your domain since last time you accessed the triggered alerts area by looking at the green bubble next to the Alerts option of the navigation pane.

If you hover over the Alerts icon while the navigation pane is minimized, you will see a white bubble that clarifies the information given by the small green bubble.

The counter in both bubbles is updated every 60 seconds.

Streaming mode

The streaming mode transforms the triggered alerts page into a synchronous dashboard, where you can see alerts in real time as soon as they are received. This is an excellent way of being instantly informed about new alerts without having to manually fetch them.

To activate it, click on the Streaming mode toggle. Only the last 200 alerts in the last hour will be shown on the list when switching to the streaming mode for the first time, or a smaller number if there weren’t enough alerts in the last hour. Newly triggered alerts will be appearing at the top, making the oldest ones at the bottom disappear.

The number of streamed alerts on the list can be adjusted at any time (even when the streaming is paused) using the Max alerts buffer dropdown. You can also remove them all to start over with the Clean table button.

To work with triggered alerts, you need to pause the streaming first by clicking the Pause button next to the toggle. If you try any action other than filtering or adjusting the streamed alerts (as shown above), you will get a pop-up prompting you to pause the streaming first. While the streaming is paused, you can perform any action on triggered alerts.

  • If you access the alert details window, the streaming mode will be automatically unpaused when returning to the alert list.

When you are finished working with alerts, you can resume the streaming by clicking the Run button next to the toggle. There is an informational text about the alerts that have been triggered while the streaming was paused, which will be all included upon resuming the streaming.

Unavailable charts

While the streaming mode is active, charts will not be usable and thus will be hidden. Learn more about charts here.
