Installing Devo Relay

[ 1 Overview ] [ 2 Monitor relay logs ] [ 3 ]

Overview

Devo Relay should be installed preferably on a system running Ubuntu. This can be a virtual machine or an actual box.

The hostname of the machine on which you install the relay must not contain dots.

Once you've installed the relay, you can set up the relay settings and rules. You can also configure a high-availability relay for failover capability.

If you are experiencing problems with your relay, check out our troubleshooting tips.

Migrating your relay to the last version

You can migrate to the most recent relay version following the instructions in this article.

Monitor relay logs

devo-monitor is a package that installs scripts that monitor machine status (CPU, memory, IO traffic) so their values can be sent to Devo through the relay. Learn how to install it in the configuration articles mentioned above.

The events collected by this package will be available in the box.stat.unix.* tables of your Devo domain. Learn more about this table in this article.
