Comparative chart widget
What is a comparative chart widget?
The comparative chart widget is composed of two elements:
- White line - Represents the data values.
- Red band - Indicates the comparison periods applied.
Configuration options
The following table lists the configuration options of this widget:
Widget title | Enter a title for the widget |

Widget description | Enter a description of the widget |
Widget size | Choose the size of the widget window |
Time Range | The period of data you want to analyze. Time range goes from 1 hour to 1 year |
Group by | Use this option to select the grouping period. Enter the required multiplier number in the left field and the time range in the right one (minutes, hours or days |
Y Axis Label | Enter a title for the Y-axis |
Actions | Add the values of the grouping to the widget |
Field to show | Select one of the available aggregated values |
Fill the parameters below to define the period bands of the widget. Note that periods and groups depend on the grouping and the time range set in the area above.
Periods related | The behavior of the red band is defined by this field:

Compare with N periods | Select the number of weeks you want to compare the line with |
Group by | This value depends on the one selected above |
Predict data | If you select ON, the white line will show only values for the first half of the range. The second half will only show the red band with the prediction based on the related periods |
Range limits | Max/Min by default. If you select Average, a new box will appear to select the variation factor |
Variation factor | Enter the variaiton factor percentage if you selected the Average option in the Range limits field. |
Example
The below widget is a sample of the average response time of the ISP Comcast Cable in a web server for the last week, grouping by days. The white line has the following configuration:
- Time Range - 1 week
- Field to show - avg (response time)
- Actions - Comcast Cable
